10 Bars You Must Visit On Your Stag Do In Nottingham

Nottingham has it all when it comes to its bars and nightlife. Whatever your preferences, whatever your budget! We’ve put together a must visit list whilst on stag weekend in city -

1.       Hooters

OK so this maybe a little obvious – but it would simply be rude not to visit the UK’s only branch of Hooters restaurant. Meat, check. Beer, check. Sport, check. Oh yeah and the girls… ;)

2.       Das Kino

A trendy little joint, Das Kino takes inspiration from German cinema. Serving craft beers and delicious pizza. They’ve also got ping pong, what’s not to like?

3.       Rocket @ Saltwater

A classy rooftop bar within Nottingham’s Cornerhouse. A great little place to start – with delicious classic cocktails served alongside a stunning view of the city. Especially nice in the summer.

4.       Bunker

Little brother to Das Kino, the Bunker – as the name suggests – is an underground hideout, just complete with everything you need for great night out. Exciting cocktails, awesome DJ’s and rumour has it – beer pong!

5.       Spanky Van Dykes

A Nottingham classic, Spanky’s rests alongside the famous Rock City and Rescue Rooms. A student hangout, that’s true but attracts locals and visitors alike. Filled with quirky memorabilia and ephemera you’ll never be short of a conversation starter. We would recommend trying the fantastic food here too.

6.       Boilermaker

The most non-secret secret bar in Nottingham. Access this ‘al fresco’ feel speakeasy through a boiler shop frontage. Be greeted coldly by the shop owner – but treat him kindly as he is the one that gets you ‘in’. We won’t give too much away, apart from the drinks menu being a thrill to read and a joy to taste!

7.       Pit and Pendulum

Another classic, the Pit and Pendulum has been apart of Nottingham for years. A gothic dungeon feel, it’s worth a visit just for the novelty of finding the toilets are through a bookcase!

8.       Tilt

An established cosy cocktail bar, best enjoyed during its incredible happy hours. Attention to detail here is amazing. Choose from wide menu range of classic cocktails and innovative inventions. A great place to kick things off!

9.       Malt Cross

A short walk from the castle, Malt Cross hides away down one of the city centre backstreets. An amazing building and venue full of character and often used for live music and events. A great selection of both traditional and contemporary beers and ales – their pretzel bar snacks are pretty awesome too!

10.   Brewdog

A man’s sort of place, with only beers and ales on the drinks menu! This doesn’t mean to say there is no variety – with new versions and brews constantly rotating there’s always something you’ll want to sample. You could always team your pint up with meat and cheese… boys will be boys.
