Mad Men your Stag Night

Possibly the most enigmatic and charismatic characters on TV, Mad Men’s Don Draper is not simply the man we want to be, he’s the man we’re afraid to be and, to an extent, we already are. We can all fantasise about pulling off that perfect slim-fit 60s suit with half as much style, not to mention spending our working days throwing out demands to subordinates while sipping a neat whiskey. Times may have changed, but if there’s one night of our lives we feel we should be entitled to let our inner-Don out, it has to be our stag night. Follow these tips and Mad Men your stag night.

Get your suit on – the ultimate stag party dress-code, once you’re all suited and booted with a tight fitting grey suit, crisp white shirt, smart tie, not to mention the horizontal pocket square, you’ll bring Madison Avenue with you. Get more tips on dressing like Don here.

Slick back your hair – if there’s one thing that says Mad Men sophistication it’s perfectly a Brill-creamed barnet. Don may be a man’s man but he takes his grooming very seriously. Find tips to perfect the Don Draper do from GQ, or even mix your own cologne.

Get sophisticated – there’s nothing tacky and cheap about a Mad Men night out. If you want to spot the likes of Joan Harris or Betty Draper you’re going to have to go VIP.

Mix a martini – whiskey on the rocks may be Don’s daytime drink, but when he’s in entertaining mode its gin martinis all the way. Discover your inner-mixologist with a cocktail making course.

Bond with the men – Paint-balling and laser tag may not have been invented when the likes of Don Draper were gracing this world, but they knew more about male-bonding than you can imagine. Try swapping for something more refined, such as golf, watching a boxing match or try clay-pigeon shooting
