Things To Do On Your Edinburgh Stag Do

The Scottish capital is truly one of the world’s great cities, it has an impressive Medieval Evil Old Town and a just as impressive Georgian New Town. And along with that the city offers some great places to visit, so if it is looking like an Edinburgh Stag Do  is on the cards for you, let’s have a look at some things you could possibly go and see/do.

So one thing you literally cannot avoid when going to Edinburgh, is the Castle, and the main reason for this is the 1 o’clock gun. This gun is fired every day (except Sunday) at… well 1 o’clock. This has been going on since 1861, so you should definitely get yourself to Edinburgh Castle to see this massive part of local culture, it would be almost rude not to If you ask me, and while you’re there you might as well take a look around the Castle itself, the Scottish Crown Jewels are kept there which are worth a look at.

If you like Whisky, then the chances are that you will be interested in the Scotch Whisky Experience.  This is a great Tour where you will hear all about the Whisky making process, and learn all about the history of this world famous liquor, and to finish off the tour you will be graced with a view of the world’s largest Scotch Whisky collection followed by a chance at tasting some Whisky, which is always a bonus. Check out this promo video that I got from their website.

If you happen to be walking around the City, it would probably be worth your while if you check out the Royal Mile. The Royal Mile is a cobbled street that passes through the centre of the old town, and has some of Edinburgh’s top attractions, which include the Castle & the Scotch Whisky Experience.

While in Edinburgh, just before you hit the bars and let the Stag Do really begin, you should check out Scotland’s best visitor attraction, which is The Royal Yacht Britannia. This was, for 44 years the Royal Family’s personal Yacht, where they did everything from Family Holidays to hosting State Visits. Today though, the Yacht is berthed in Edinburgh, and is a massive visitor attraction, audio guided tours are available too.

Edinburgh is full of things to see and do. So if you do choose to have an Edinburgh Stag Do, you won’t regret it. The city also boasts an amazing night life so you will not be let down on that front.
