The Not So Normal Manchester Stag Weekend

If you are feeling like doing something a little different in the day for your Manchester Stag Do then you have come to the right place. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it is my understanding that Manchester is England’s third largest City, with a great music scene and 2 legendary Football Clubs, there’s even a nicely sized China town if that takes your fancy. So with that in mind, on your Manchester Stag Do you shouldn’t be short of things to see and do. So I have done what I do best, and had a poke around the World Wide ‘Interweb’ to find a few places that I think would be pretty awesome to see if you happen to be in the City with some free time on your hands.

Stonerig Raceway

Have you ever had a Scalextric set? And can you remember how much fun you use to have with that particular set? Well if you want to re-live some childhood memories then you need to get yourself to Stonerig Raceway. This is a purpose built Scalextric heaven. I can’t really tell you much about this place, but from what little information I could gather, it is definitely worth a visit. They have a cool promo video as well…

Cloud 23

The Beetham Tower in Manchester is the largest skyscraper in the City, the 9th largest in the country and the Largest outside of London (Impressive stuff). Roughly half way up this 47 story monster is the Cloud 23 bar. If you can manage to get in, then it would be well worth your while. That could be quite a task though, as it states on their website that the Friday & Saturday night guest list is normally fully booked 2 - 3 months in advance. So with a bit of luck and some patience you might just be treated to some cracking views and a nice chilled beer or 2.

Old Trafford

Manchester is home to 2 pretty big Football Clubs, you might have heard of them. If not, then there is no hope for you my friend, no hope. You don’t need to be a fan of Man United to head over to Old Trafford to experience there museum tour. Obviously the club has a great history, so it could be quite interesting to see what they have got on view for the public. So whether you are one of them glory supporters or not. Old Trafford would be great place to visit. Unless you support Man City, in which case you would probably want to travel the 4 miles across the City to visit the Etihad Stadium.

Curry mile

The Curry Mile is a nickname for the part of Wilmslow Road that is full of Takeaways and Restaurants. Sounds like heaven if you need a kebab at the end of the night, but also sounds like hell trying to choose which one too use, as there are about 70 restaurants/takeaways within the mile stretch.

So there are a few things I managed to whip together, having never been to Manchester myself, you lot will have to be my Guinea pigs. But also lets not hold it against me if any of these places aren’t all they are cracked up to be.
